Jon McNeff has been the Senior Pastor of NorthCreek Church for the past thirteen years. He has been married to Anne for thirty five years. They have four children. Casey and her husband Brent attend NorthCreek where Brent is the Communications Director, and Casey is in charge of the bookstore. They have three children, Riley, Bailey, and Sydney. Jon and Anne's second child, Charlie, is with the Lord after drowning in their pool twenty five years ago. Their younger daughter, Lindsey, teaches at NorthCreek Academy and was married to Nick Christy in June. Their youngest son, Peter, is a student at Diablo Valley College.
Jon enjoys classic hot rods, big trucks, motorcycles, and boats. Summertime finds Jon and Anne spending a lot of time on the family boat at Lake Berryessa wakeboarding, tubing, and swimming with their kids and grandkids. When he can get away, Jon also loves deep sea fishing.
The thing he enjoys most, however, is reading and the pursuit of knowing God's Word. This pursuit led him from a BA in music from Long Beach State University, to his M.Div. and D.Min. from Talbot School of Theology. His years of ministry have been enhanced by reading and studying for his own benefit as well as for his regular preaching and teaching schedule. The most significant books he's read recently include "Spurgeon: A New Biography" by Arnold Dalimore, "Hitler's Cross" by Erwin Lutzer, "Sinners in the Hands of a Good God" by David Clotfelter, and "The Cube and the Cathedral" by George Weigal.
Jon loves serving in the ministry of NorthCreek Church. He entered the ministry thirty years ago because he wanted to invest his life in something that was eternal and has not been disappointed. The joy of seeing people's lives changed through the teaching of the Word of God drives him in all he does. He strongly believes that expository preaching through books of the Bible is the best way to keep the church from being conformed to the world through understanding the whole counsel of God. The clarity of the gospel and the true nature of the church are topics he is especially concerned with addressing in this age of "easy believism."
