Chairman, Worship and Music Ministries

Erik serves as the elder chairman of  Northcreek, and has served on the Elder Board since 2002. His primary area of oversight is Worship and Music as well as leading the board.  Erik regularly teaches in adult classes on Sunday and also leads a community group.  He and his wife Heather, were married in 1991 and have four children.  Erik enjoys spending time with his family and watching them grow, snow skiing and soccer.

Senior Pastor

Kent has been the pastor of NorthCreek Church since June 1, 2018. He has served on pastoral staff at NorthCreek since 2004. He has also served as an elder since 2007. He is thankful to oversee a variety of ministries for adults and families, while teaching in various roles as well. Kent comes to us with a B.S. in Business Administration, an M.Div in Pastoral Ministries and a Th.M. in Old Testament Theology from The Master's College and Seminary. He also holds a D. Min. in Preaching from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  He and his wife Julie were married in 1998, and they have five children. In his free time, Kent loves to bike, golf, read, play with the kids, and date his wife (in reverse order). His desire is to help people increase in their love for Christ, His church, our neighbors, and the nations.

Executive Pastor

Jim is the Executive Pastor at NorthCreek Church and has been at the church since 2007. In addition to assisting the Senior Pastor in overseeing the ministries of the Church and Academy/Preschool, he teaches regularly and oversees the Business Office, Adult Teaching Corps and the Cafe/Bookstore. Jim has an MBA from Pepperdine University. He and his wife Jamie were married in 1981. They have two sons, a daughter and a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren who they "occasionally" love on! He loves the local church and enjoys golfing, fishing, reading, and spending time with his family.

Student Ministries

Rod McCleary has been an active member of NorthCreek and served on the elder board for many years going back to the 80's. His primary area of oversight is student ministries where he has worked with the high school group for over 30 years. Rod also works with junior high students and is a part time junior high teacher and substitute at the Academy. When not working with students, he enjoys hiking in the mountains and water sports.

Kaleo Community (career singles)

David came to the Lord in 1988 through a NCC evangelical outreach. He currently shepherds Kaleo (Singles group 24-35), teaches LifeStage groups, and is vice-chairman of the elder board. He has been married since 1984 to Cindy, who disciples women, along with doing pre-marital counseling with David. Their son, Chris, is an Associate Pastor at Irvine Community Church and is married to Liz and has two daughters Katie & Karis. Their daughter, Allie, is a member here along with her husband David DeLancey and they are in the process of adopting a child from India.

Pathfinders Community
(married, 30s)

Rick came to the Lord in 1969 and married his wife, Pati in 1979. He has served on the Elder Board since 2005. His primary area of service is mentoring young men, teaching the Bible, and, with Pati, premarital counseling and overseeing Pathfinders. They have two adult daughters who are married and serve at NorthCreek Church with their husbands. Rick enjoys storytelling, backpacking, gardening, fly fishing and spending time with his six grandchildren.

Rooted Community
(married, 30s)

Andrew has served on the Elder Board since 2004. His primary area of oversight is the 20's lifestage ministry, Rooted. Andrew and his wife, Carrie, were married in 1998 and have four children. Andrew loves to study history and is passionate about getting people involved in the NorthCreek community of faith for the furtherance of the gospel and the glory of God.

Ken Miller

Groundbreakers Community
(married 40s - 50's)

Ken and his wife, Sue, came to NCC in 2004. Ken’s primary leadership oversight is with the Groundbreakers Community Group.  He also serves as a mentor for men in Groundbreakers as well as leading a Men's Community Group. Ken has taught various LifeStage classes, serves in the premarital counseling program, and was a leader in the Master Plan Caleb Campaign program. The Millers were married in 1979 and have a grown son and daughter and four grandchildren.

Children's Ministry, New Foundation Community
(adults, 50s - 60s)

Rick has served on the Elder Board since 2005. His primary area of oversight is Children's Ministry. Rick and his wife Carol were married in 1979 and have two married children. Rick enjoys studying and teaching God's word along with leading a weekly prayer time for NorthCreek Academy and Children's ministry. He loves spending time with family, including his four grandchildren.

Tom Evans
OneLife
(young families, 20s - 30s)

Tom Evans and his wife Cyndi moved to Walnut Creek and joined the church in 1989. Their family includes two grown daughters, a son-in-law, and a sister who also call NorthCreek home. Over the years Tom has served in many areas, including student and children's ministries, LifeStage class leadership, and the adult teaching corps. He has led small group Bible studies and participates regularly in One2One discipleship with other men. He previously served on the NorthCreek elder board from 2001-2010, and has been shepherding young families in the OneLife LifeStage since re-joining the board in 2017. As time allows, Tom enjoys playing softball and tennis, plus wakeboarding, dirt biking, and snow skiing.

Pastor of Biblical Counseling

Jeremy grew up right here at NorthCreek Church.  Over the years he has been active in many different ministries within the church, and has been in a leadership position for Men's Ministries since 2009. He met his wife, Hayley, at NorthCreek. They were married in 2005 and have two sons. Jeremy graduated from Cal Poly SLO with a Construction Management degree and worked full time in the construction field as a Project Manager for 15 years. He became the Pastor of Biblical Counseling in 2017; and he currently attends The Master's Seminary. He has completed ACBC certification. When he's not spending time with his family, he enjoys dirt biking and boating.
