God's heart for the orphan is unmistakeably clear: care for them (James 1.27). As a result, we desire to care for the orphan by:
1. Aiding and supporting families in their exploration and/or pursuit of adoption or foster care,
2. Raising awareness in the church about "distressed orphans," as well as the resources available to meet those needs,
3. Partnering with other like-minded ministries to provide orphan care, both locally and globally.
Coming Events
NorthCreek Orphan Ministries is hosting a foster care certification course this June. Foster Care falls under NorthCreek's ministry to orphans, and is primarily done through providing housing on a temporary basis. Children in the county's Foster Care system have been removed from their home for a variety of reasons. These children need someone to love them and care for them temporarily while their "permanent home" is arranged.
The course is a good way to see how God can minister through Foster Parents (and their kids) and to evaluate if Foster Care is right for your family. As the name implies, this course will also enable those who are interested in becoming foster parents to become licensed foster care parents through Hosanna Homes, a private foster care agency. Several NorthCreek families have gone through the training and have attested to the value and profit that the training provides.
We are partnering with Hosanna Homes foster ministry to host this course. It will be held from 6:30-9:30pm, every Thursday night in June (June 3, 10, 17, and 24) in the NorthCreek Church worship center building, room 120.
If you want to become a licensed foster parent, are exploring the possibility but aren’t sure if fostering is for you, or are even just curious, please feel free to register and attend. There is no obligation to become a Foster Care family.(Foster kids are not sent home with attendees at the end of the course).) To register for the course, please email aturner@northcreek.org.
