Benevolent Care

Benevolent Care

As a church body, we seek to respond in a compassionate way to those in need. The resources for this assistance are solely provided by our Benevolent Fund. The offerings and designated gifts for the Benevolent Fund are given on a free-will basis, either by designation or through the offering following our monthly communion service.

Benevolent assistance is intended for those who have depleted their own resources in meeting the basic needs for life. Examples are those who are unemployed, under employed, or in financial crisis. The assistance is meant to help with basic needs such as utilities, partial rent, transportation, medical needs, and supplies from our food pantry.

The benevolent funds are allocated according to a policy established by the Elders. We do not allocate cash or vouchers, but make payments by mail directly to vendors. We have been able to assist many in our church and community through benevolent assistance. Auto donations can also be used to assist those in need.
