Family/Child Dedication
Family/Child Dedication
NorthCreek Church

Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go,
even when he is old he will not depart from it."

Our Family/Child Dedication handbook gives explanation to the family/child dedication process at NorthCreek. Please pick up a brochure in the Welcome Center, Nursery, or church office.

We require all parents who are interested in dedicating their child, to read the handbook, fill out the forms and give them to the Children's Ministries Office.

What do we commit to when we dedicate our child?

Dedication of your child is a special time to declare before others that your child is given over to the Lord. As parents, you are committing yourselves in the presence of many witnesses to be the parents that God, through the Holy Spirit, will lead you to be. You must have a desire for your child to one day make that personal commitment to Jesus Christ and to follow the Lord in a life of service for Him.

What dedicating your child does NOT mean:

The dedication of a child does not guarantee a child's salvation, but is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your desire and willingness to teach your child the truths of God's Word that one day may lead to his/her salvation.

It is also not a baptism, because the Bible teaches that baptism is only for those who have personally accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, which very young children cannot make yet.

With the blessing of a baby comes a tremendous responsibility for Christian parents. We are entrusted to raise our children in accordance to biblical truth and point them to Jesus Christ. In light of this great responsibility, NorthCreek thinks of this dedication as a Family dedication.

Our next dedication service is scheduled for Sunday, May 13, 2012.

Please call (925) 210-9036, or email
