Sunday, August 30, 2009 was the launch of a Filipino congregation at NorthCreek Church. Several Filipino families from Antioch, Pittsburg, Concord, and Vallejo have been meeting in homes for worship and fellowship. Due to the growth in numbers, they have been looking for a place to worship in a more central location. NorthCreek is ideally suited for this need. The church, called World Harvest Fellowship - Walnut Creek, and pastored by Constante Balili, is part of a group of Filipino churches located in Stockton, Tracy, Pleasanton, and Fremont that are associated with the EFCA. Most of the pastors have received biblical and theological training from Free Church institutions in the Philippines. The church worships together in the Eastside room starting at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. The service is prodominately English.
