FLOCK STUDENT COUNCIL

Purpose: To create an opportunity for our students to serve the church in a direct way by assisting in the planning, creation, and running of the various ministries of NorthCreek Church’s High school dept.

The student council will have the opportunity to serve NorthCreek Church and the community and in so doing, glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This will also provide an opportunity for those involved to be given additional biblical and leadership training. The intent of forming this council is to above all things Glorify Christ and to do this by serving the body, proclaiming the Gospel and encouraging a heart of service in our young people.

Commitment: The students involved must be committed to attending all, if possible, meetings, events and ministries of Flock. The students involved must be resolved to serve the body of Christ and have a basic understanding of Matthew 20:25-28 and a desire to live it out. Those students involved must have a clear understanding that to serve on this council requires a commitment of time, work, and learning and to be ready to commit at least as much time to serve the church in this capacity as one would to a sports, drama, music team or hobby.

Time and attitude commitments

1. Once a month meeting for planning and organizing of Flock Events, ministries etc.

2. Necessary meetings whenever the need arises (flexibility is important)

3. Attending flock events and ministries as much as possible. The key here is to understand that these events have priority and that those on the council are there to serve and encourage other students.

4. Students involved must be ready to serve and also ready to reach out to other students, especially those who do not feel connected or those who are visiting. We want to make hospitality and friendliness a priority in flock.

5. Students involved must be committed to having a daily time in God’s Word and in prayer.

6. Students involved must be willing to be accountable to each other and the leadership for their walk with the Lord and their testimony.

7. Students involved must be ready and willing to learn and grow not only through service but also through study and training.
