FLOCK W.I.M. TEAM
(WORSHIP IN MUSIC)
It is our desire to worship and glorify God in all areas of our lives. One way in which we worship is through music and song. Pride is a risk in every leadership role, but especially in the area of music.
Any person that is involved in the W.I.M. team must take the time to consistently check their motivation. As the worship team, it is your purpose and responsibility to glorify God by focusing the attention of those you are leading solely on Him. You must resist the temptation to showcase yourself and your talents.
It is important that your walk with God be solid and consistent. If you are not spending time in the word and on your knees, you have no place ministering in front of others. This can be a very powerful and God-honoring team if all of its members are yielded to God. (For more resources for Christian musicians, go to Bob Kauflin's blog Worship Matters)
W.I.M. TEAM COMMITMENTS
- LEAD WORSHIP ON SUNDAYS AND THURSDAYS: To lead in God-honoring worship during Sunday morning and Thursday night Flock meetings. There are two separate bands that take turns leading worship so students do not have to play every week but should try to leave their schedules relatively open in case of a schedule change.
- LEAD WORSHIP FOR EVENTS: To lead worship at flock events and possibly retreats.
- TO PRACTICE TOGETHER REGULARLY: In order to be prepared and to do the best job one can do practice is necessary. This should be weekly and on a set day. All members should be present including vocals.
- TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TECHNICAL ASPECTS: Those on the W.I.M. team must make sure that the sound equipment is ready and that the power point is available and ready for all songs.
