Hey all,
Greetings from Dinuba CA, the Gleanings team is doing
great. They are working their hearts out for the glory of God. Most of our guys
have been working in the fields laying down and stacking up fruit pallets.
It has been very hot and hard work. We have also had some
of our gals out there as well and they are doing a great job. Many of our students have been on the assembly line as
well, sorting, cutting, coring and cupping thousands of peaches and
nectarines.
Tonight we go bowling after work and then we will have a
Bible study together. The interaction with other cultures and denominations has
given opportunity for some great discussion.
Please pray as we continue to work hard in this intense
heat, pray for health and safety. Also the sulfur smell has been pretty strong
and can be very irritating to the nose, pray that we will endure some of these
unpleasant conditions and keep our eyes and hearts focused on the Lord Jesus
Christ.
In Him with you,
Tony
Greetings all from the Gleanings,
Yesterday was a great day! It was filled with very hard
work, worship, prayer, and new relationships. Our students are working very
hard, what an encouragement to see them pour their heart out into their work.
It can get real monotonous on the line but we constantly remind ourselves that
our tedious labor is producing food for thousands of hungry believers around
the world. This keeps us going. Please pray that our students will remember to
drink water continuously, we have had one get dehydrated already, he is fine
but we have been pouring water with propel (electrolytes) added.
It is funny to see how God can use everything, Jonathan
Hollenbeck was the one that got dehydrated, while in the room convalescing he
struck up a conversation with a boy who came with another church. As it turns
out the young man came along with one of the churches but is a Buddhist, he
came along at the invite of his two friends that are believers and attend Bible
Fellowship. Jonathan had a chance to
establish a friendship with him and share Christ with him. Please pray as he
continues to share the love of Christ with this young man. Keep us all in your
prayers for safety and fellowship, may God be glorified in all things.
