New Foundation is a group of adults, age 60+. We meet each Sunday in room 124 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.

Sunday Morning Fellowship

New Foundation is made up of people in their 60's, who want to serve the Lord and grow together by:
  1. Meeting on Sunday mornings from 9-10:30 a.m.
  2. Praying together in small groups
  3. Encouraging one another in personal ministries, finding practical ways to love God and our neighbors,
  4. Meeting socially to grow together.

If you would like to get plugged in, the best way to do so would be to join us on any given Sunday for a time of teaching, prayer, and community. Please feel free to contact a class leader below for more information.

Supper - Eights

In order to get to know each other more intentionally, and to jog our older brains to remember names, we will take sign-ups for one month, every third month, to facilitate random dinner groups of 8 people.

Our first sign-up month was every Sunday in February. Groups were formed and hosts planned a dinner date to occur in March or April. Our next sign-up month will be in May with dinners scheduled in June or July. Then another sign-up month in August, and so on. That way, we will mix up dinner groups four times per year. Selected volunteer hosts will plan the date, the menu, and the participation of guests. It is okay to be creative: ie, hike and picnic.

We look forward to meeting you!

Married Sue in 1982; two children – Mike and Chrissy, and two grandchildren, CC and Siah. I came to Christ at the age of 15 through the ministry of Al Siebert, the Executive Director of Youth For Christ, in Long Beach. Following graduation from Millikan High in Long Beach, CA, I served in ministry with Al for the next six years. I served the next two years with Seal Beach Grace Brethren Church as the College Director before moving from Southern California to Walnut Creek in 1984. I began attending Evangelical Free Church (which we now call NorthCreek Church) in the spring of 1984 and have been here ever since. My involvement in this church has included the Adult Teaching Core, Leadership Teams for our Adult Sunday class, Director of Men’s Ministries for four years, and finally, the Director of Biblical Counseling, beginning in 1999. In 1994, I left the business world (Hedge fund manager in bonds, currencies and commodities) and began preparing my heart and head to enter what has been a lifetime dream for me: that of being in ministry on a full-time basis. I am very grateful for all those who have influenced me in such great ways over the many years of ministry, especially Al Siebert and Jon McNeff. It is my hope that your experience with our ministry leads you toward the joy God has planned for you, that abundant life that Jesus spoke of in John 15:11 – "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full."

Who, What, When, Where

The Community Groups at NCC all look different. Some CGs are larger and meet on campus, others are smaller and meet in homes. Some CGs are made up primarily from one LifeStage, others are a multi-generational mix. Some groups discuss Sunday's Sermon, others move through a topical curriculum, others do an inductive study of a book of the Bible. Some meet weekly, some meet bi-weekly; there's a CG to fit almost any schedule. If you're interested in joining others in the same life stage (60's), please contact Steve Mawhorter at  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
