God's passion for His people crosses boundaries of all
dimensions, including cultural and geographical. We are honored and excited
about how He is using our own NorthCreek
Church family to display
His passion around the world!
The purpose of the Global Outreach Ministry of NorthCreek
Church is to strategically deploy people and resources in targeted regions
around the world so as to proclaim the gospel and make disciples across
language and/or ethnic boundaries. This is termed "missions." In short, missions is advancing Christ's kingdom
cross-culturally.
So how does missions work? In an over simplification, here
is how I see it.
- Goal - God receives glory
when lost people come to know Him and live for Him.
- Missions - Where the
church is non-existent or weak, disciples from other places and cultures are
sent to live among the people, get to know them, love them, help them, witness
to them and/or train and assist the local believers.
- Sending - Christians are
sent to do the above when local churches, such as NorthCreek, disciple,
recruit, train, send, support, encourage, and pray for them.
As we are involved in missions at NorthCreek Church,
we strive to keep the goal in view and remember the above pattern. Each step is
valuable as it contributes to the top line goal of God receiving the glory.
We want to stay in step with what God is doing globally. We
want our financial and human resources to be used strategically. You can plan your part as you pray, give, and go.
