The Purpose of the Library (or, "Why do we have a library?"):
We believe the library enables each of us to better fulfill our church's vision "to build Christians who worship God, walk in love, and witness to the world." This happens within the library ministry by providing audio/video materials and books of all types−Bibles (including study Bibles) in many versions, commentaries, reference works, Christian history and biographies, theological studies, missions, ethics (including bio-ethics), current issues, and more. Through all these resources, then, we can, by the renewing of our minds:
1. be taught to worship God more fully,
2. be transformed to walk in love with one another in the church, and,
3. be trained to witness about Christ to the world around us.
Library Objectives (or, "How will you fulfill the purpose for which the library exists?"):
In order to get the word out regarding the new library location and improved resources, we will be:
1. providing new books, audio, and video on a regular basis, selected according to the vision statement guidelines, pastoral recommendations, and needs of church ministries,
2. making the library user-friendly by entering all materials, old and new, into the online library catalog, which can then be accessed from the internet, and,
3. keeping the church body informed, through bulletin announcements, webpage content, the library itself, and through book reviews and lists of new materials published.
