How are DGs formed?

Each DG is made up of students who are of the same grade and of the same gender (girls with girls and guys with guys). Obviously, the girls are with female staff and the guys with male staff.

Typically, two or more adults leaders (usually parents) are teamed up together and then combined with six to eight students who have signed up online. Leaders typically rotate the leading/teaching responsibility.

Discipleship Groups begin in late September after students have settled into school.

Typically by mid-July an online registration is available for the upcoming school year.

All students who want to participate in a DG are registered online by their parents. Parents are to have read over the DG information and understand what's expected.

The online registration records all the basic info needed for each student and any preferences in terms of friends and staff that your son or daughter would like to have in their group.

Please understand that we do our VERY best to accommodate each student/parent preference (if there are any) but there are no guarantees. There are other factors that come into play when forming our groups (such as personalities, maturity levels, clique issues, the number of students, available staff, etc). Just know that much prayer and thought goes into all of this. Your advice and counsel is welcomed too.
We do ask that students remain flexible and open to forming new relationships and friends. Consider DGs a great opportunity to do this.

If we can, we try hard to maintain previously established groups, because relationships have already been made and students and staff tend to want to continue what they've started. But students are free to change things each year if they prefer to get to know other students better.
