Yes.
There is a commitment involved in coming to these groups on a weekly basis and to do any assigned homework that's given out (it's usually not a lot and sometimes there's none at all). It is our hope that each student would be in the habit of spending some time daily in the Word. The homework given out can help them do that.
We do want to foster unity and fellowship, and that's difficult to achieve if students and parents aren't committed and attendance becomes sporadic. The truth covered in our DGs should be a priority in our student's lives. Actually, nothing should be more important than learning and drawing closer to our Heavenly Father and with each other as we live out this life that He has given us.
Parents: Please make sure your student's priorities are in the right order. School and sports and other activities can be of great benefit, but knowing and loving our Heavenly Father must always come first. Sometimes we can allow our students to become so busy that they don't have time to establish and develop a genuine appreciation and love for the One who created them and sustains them. School and sports can be really good things, but they won't save anyone.
