Volunteer Driver Compensation

As you know, NorthCreek Church is considered a non-profit organization by the IRS and so the dollar amount that we charge for a student to participate in a given event is merely to help cover the estimated expenses that will be incurred.

One of our goals in Student Ministries is to keep expenses as low as possible for everyone involved when going off-campus. To do that, we quite often use privately owned vehicles to transport our students. These vehicles are driven by their owners (usually parents) who are non-professional (meaning unpaid) drivers.

Often times, our volunteer drivers consider their driving expense a gift beyond their normal giving for that week.

But if you would like to be compensated for your expense through NorthCreek Church, please know that the
IRS dictates that expense reimbursement for volunteer drivers be at a rate of .14 per mile.

If you would like NorthCreek Church to reimburse you, please indicate it on the Volunteer Driver Qualification form that is required for you to drive and a check will be mailed to you within a few work days of the event.

Another possiblity is to keep a record and claim .14 per mile on your taxes.

Boat Drivers:
“If you would like reimbursement for your BOAT fuel expense, ramp fee(s), etc., please submit your BOAT expense original receipts to: NorthCreek Church, Student Ministries 2303B Ygnacio Valley Rd, WC CA 94598.
Original receipts MUST be received within 30 days after the event. NO reimbursements will be made after 30 days.”

Again... THANK YOU for serving in this way. Without drivers like you (people generously giving of their time, energy and possessions) the students in the Rock would not be able to go to the many offsite events that we go to.
