Rock DG Curriculum

What follows is an overview of our three-year DG Curriculum.
(Lesson titles for each grade follow after that).

Each grade has a different curriculum tract.
Each school year session has 22 lessons.
Lessons tend to build on previous lessons.
Each grade has a different theme and focus.

6th Grade --> "Christ in the World"
From the existence of God, to God reconciling mankind to Himself through His one and only Son.

7th Grade --> "Christ in you"
From God providing the way to actual personal salvation. From justification to the process of sanctification.
Christ as Savior and Lord.

8th Grade --> "Christ in us"
From individual, to a full on member of the body of Christ.Brothers and sisters in Christ.
The purpose of the church. Our relationship to nonbelievers. Evangelism.

6th Grade Discipleship Group Curriculum
(22 lessons)

"Christ in the world"
From the Existence of God, to God reconciling mankind to Himself through His one and only Son.

In this curriculum tract we go over the basic fundamentals of our faith and answer questions that many students/people have about God, our relationship to Him, our true condition, the Bible and more.

Lesson 4 Evolution/Creation - Punching holes in the Darkness
A man made theory vs. God’s Truth

Lesson 5 Theists – Poly, Pan or One?
Superstitions & common misconceptions

Lesson 6 How has God revealed Himself?
General & Specific revelation

Lessons 7-8 How do we know that the bible is truth and from God?

Lesson 9 After the holiday break- A review of Lessons 1- 8 Where were we?

Lessons 10-11 What makes God… God?
Holy, Almighty, All Knowing, Perfect; His other attributes

Lessons 12-13 The Trinity – One God in Three Persons – It’s a Mystery

Lesson 14 Man before the Fall

Lessons 15-16 Man after the Fall - The Nature of Man

Lesson 17 Our Desperate need for a Cure
Our real condition --> Sin. Our need for a Savior

Lessons 18-20 Who is Jesus?
Fulfilled Prophecies, The Miracles, the outrageous but true claims of Christ.

Lesson 21 More than a Savior

Lesson 22 Why did Jesus have to die?

Lesson 23 How can I really know that I'm saved? (Extra lesson)

7th Grade Discipleship Group Curriculum
(22 lessons)

"Christ in you."
From God providing the Way, to actual, personal salvation.
From justification through the process of sanctification. Christ as Savior and Lord.

In this curriculum we examine how our faith (which is a gift from God) is to transform us into Christ’s image.

Lesson 1 – Four ways the Gospel is received. Which way have you received it?

Lesson 2 - Seeing as God sees us and agreeing with Him: Confession

Lesson 3 – Repentance: It's more than just saying you’re sorry.

Lesson 4 – Salvation: Being reconciled to our Father; Can it be lost?
(Is it more than just a one-time decision?)

Lesson 5 - The first order of obedience: Baptism; What is it? Why be baptized?

Lesson 6 – Considered sinless by God. Our new position in Christ. (Justification)
Lesson 7 - Adopted by God.
Lesson 8 – The process of being set apart - Sanctification – What is it?
(Faith = Obedience, submitting to His will; Dying to one’s self)

Lesson 9 - After the holiday break - A review of Lessons 1-8
(Time to remember what we've covered so far)

Lesson 10 - A new creature, transformed!

Lesson 11 - Working with the Holy Spirit.

This year we want to focus our attention on the body of Christ, which is His Church, and our involvement in it.
