Helping Hands

Helping Hands

Helping Hands meets on the second(Quiliting) and third(Africa) Thursdays from 9:30-2:00pm. in Fellowship Hall.

During the summer we will be adding additional Quiliting Days: July 3, 10, 31 and August 28.

Starting in September we will meet the first(Africa)and fourth(Quiliting) Thursdays of each month at the same time.

Our Helping Hands group is very productive throughout the year providing many items for various ministries. Some of these projects are:

Touch Global:
Touch Global provides resources to the Evangelical Free Church of America – International Mission personnel who are engaged in relief projects or development programs as part of the church planting strategy. We put together items for back packs for AIDS orphans and Bible verses that are used in prisons, hospitals, and Sunday schools in various countries. Helping hands sends supplies as requested.

Rain Forest International School and Missionary Children’s Ministries (Cameroon, Central Africa):
We collect labels to purchase a van for the school. Any Campbell, Swanson, or Pepperidge Farm soup labels are usable.

Bay Area Rescue Mission (Richmond, California):
We sew and provide quilts for the 40-bed women’s dormitory. After a woman is trained she leaves with the quilt that was on her bed.

Helping Hands is always in need of the following donated items:

  • Used sheets, any color, any condition
  • Sewing remnants and supplies such as thread, embroidery thread, beads, medium or large scissors, needle threaders, thimbles, large safety pins, and yarn
  • Whole labels, untrimmed from Campbell, Swanson, and Pepperidge Farm soup cans

Items for donation may be brought to the Information Center at NorthCreek Church and placed in the marked box.
