Extending God's Love to Unreached Women and Children

We have some exciting news to share and want to encourage you to continue praying for Wati and those she ministers to.

 Lakeside Training Center

Our chapter had a neat opportunity two weeks ago to give funds to SIS in order to pay for a cottage that will be used as housing at the Lakeside Training Center! There were three training camps in December and those that attended slept outside in tents, so the cottage will be a quick solution for some from the rains. The cottage was portable temporary housing provided after the Tsunami and now families are reselling them because they are in permanent homes once again. Dorms are in the plans for the Lakeside Training Center, but the cottage will provide some shelter until they are built. Cherylann is in Indonesia as we write this email and visiting Wati and the Lakeside Training Center. She will be able to see the progress of the main meeting hall. The next building project is a dorm for camp attendees.

As we continue to support Wati in her ministries, we have decided to also help support six trainers who will be helping to facilitate the camps.

                  Dinner with Kay Strom

You have the opportunity to enjoy an evening of special music, fellowship and a delicious Indian dinner on Sunday, March 9.

Kay Strom, co-author of Daughters of Hope, will be the special guest speaker. Kay will share her SIS-related experiences including very recent travels in the hardest places of the world, researching child trafficking for her next book with Michele.

The Dublin chapter of SIS is hosting the evening at Valley Christian Center, 7500 Inspiration Drive in Dublin from 5:30-8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults and $3 for children under 12 years of age. For tickets and more information, call Gloria Gregory (925)998-3785. If you’d like to carpool please contact Lisa Crabtree (925)686-5210 or Brenda Loving (925)932-5624. We look forward to seeing you!

"PRAY WITHOUT CEASING" 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NASB)

No Bibles Allowed - Please Continue to Pray--Wati has recently shared that Bibles must be hidden in her areas of ministry that are most hostile to the Gospel. New Christians often do not have Bibles for this reason. Anyone caught bringing them to the area risks being killed. Imagine what it would be like to be a Christian without access to a Bible. The Training Center will be built in an area on the border of a hostile area, but is safe for Christians. At the center new believers will be able to study the Bible, be encouraged and equipped to share their faith when they go back to their communities.

  • Please pray that God will allow His children access to His Word.

  • Pray for protection for those who are willing to risk their lives to bring the Gospel into the hostile areas.

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will grow believers into maturity in their faith in Christ.

  • Continue to pray that the Training Center will, Lord willing, be funded so construction can be completed.

"For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints." Hebrews 6:10 (NASB)

Thanks to Northcreek Women's Ministires, we Learn. . .Pray. . .and Give--Northcreek Women's Ministries Leaders have made it possible for women in our community to learn about Wati and her ministry, pray for her ministry, pray for her and give toward to construction of the Training Center. If you are involved in a group where you can share about Wati and her ministry, please let me know. It can be as simple as praying for her regularly in a corporate setting, watching the five minute SIS DVD, or reading the Daughters of Hope book together.

Little Reminders to Pray--Our Walnut Creek chapter has several little reminders to pray for Wati. Maybe you have one of them in your home. NorthCreek Women's Bible Study received little stocking ornaments with a picture of Wati last Christmas. It was a joy for me to unpack that reminder this year and hang it on my Christmas tree. It reminded me to pray for Wati throughout the Christmas season. Many of you carry our SIS Tote Bag as a reminder to pray. If you don't have one yet, the tote bags can be purchased for $25 or higher donation from the NorthCreek Bookstore or from me personally.

If you are interested in the other creative ways we have available to help remind you to pray or if you have suggestions for the ministry that would help to accomplish our mission please contact Laurie Agnello @ Lagnello@northcreek.org or Lisa Crabtree.
