The Worship & Music Ministry at NorthCreek Church exists to edify the body through equipping and engaging the believer in Jesus Christ to sing their faith through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs in corporate worship. W&M Ministry is committed to strengthen vocalists and instrumentalists in worship, musical skill, and artistry.

Foundations for Young Musicians
Beginning Ukulele Class Fall 2023 at NorthCreek!
A beginning Ukulele class for 5th and 6th Grade Students who attend NorthCreek Church or NorthCreek Academy (limit 20 students)
Class description: The ukulele provides an affordable, accessible way for young students to learn the fundamentals of music through fun, engaging, performance-based activities. Through this hands-on classroom experience, students will learn the basics of melody, harmony, rhythm, and musical notation within a meaningful group-focused context. Students will learn fretting and strumming technique, chords, melodic lines, and rhythmic patterns to be performed on the soprano Ukulele. The students will be able to visually identify tablature and play melodies and chords to common folk songs, hymns, and spirituals. No previous ukulele playing experience is required.
Objectives:
Through this course, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate basic chord stumming and melodic note playing on the ukulele.
2. Participate in ensemble experiences using ukuleles in conjunction with singing and other instruments.
3. Identify ways in which ukulele playing can be integrated into music curriculum to teach music concepts and promote progress towards national music education standards.
4. Engage in a musical ensemble as preparation for future private lessons in Uke or Guitar.
Required Equipment:
1. Soprano Ukulele provided with registration fee
2. Course Methods Book provided with registration fee
3. Three-ring ½” binder/notebook
4. Clip-on tuner provided with registration fee. For in-class use only.
Course Textbook:
1. “Essential Elements for Ukulele: Comprehensive Ukulele Method- Book 1” by Marty Gross (Hal Leonard Publishing © 2014 ) provided with registration fee
Registration: $25 per student (includes 1 methods book and usage fee for Ukulele)
Registration period begins: August 31
Class Limit is 20 Students first come, first served basis.

Worship Band and Vocal Team
These instrumentalists and vocalists are experienced musicians that lead our congregation in worship for Sunday morning services and special events. Team members serve on a weekly basis and rotate usually 1-2 Sundays a month.
NorthCreek Choir
These are vocalists from ages 16 through adult who meet weekly to rehearse for Sunday services and special events. NCC Choir rehearsal schedule runs September through May. We are always accepting new and returning choir members throughout the year. There are informational meetings once a season to get involved in this ministry.

The Story Choir
Since 2012, NorthCreek Church has presented The Story, a program proclaiming the Gospel through “living art,” narration, and music. In 2023, we decided to move The Story from December to the spring time in 2024. The Story will now take place March 21 - 24. If you’d like more information, please email Doré Myers at .
NorthCreek Orchestra
This ensemble is comprised of auditioned instrumentalists who prepare regularly throughout the fall and spring season for Sunday worship services and our Christmas and Easter presentations, including The Story. Orchestra instrumentalists who are proficient musicians from grade 9 through adults may participate. Age exceptions are made at the discretion of the director.
Our ministry is currently in need of the Strings, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion players. If you are interested in serving, or have questions, click on Application to serve below.
Sound Production Team
These volunteers assist in Sunday morning and special events sound mixing, stage monitoring, and audio production support. To request information, call the church office, (925) 210-9036 or contact Dave Sweeris.
Prayer Team
NorthCreek has a faithful Prayer Team that meets on Sunday mornings in the Large Conference Room in the Worship Center at 8:00 a.m. This is a time to pray for the church services, Sunday school classes, participants, and all the things happening on our campus each Sunday.
